Friday Harbor, which alone has the population of all of Lopez Island, is a bustling and interesting town: a jumble of buildings, brightly painted and historical, cling to the steep hill fronting Friday Harbor’s downtown area, most of them turn of the 19th century wood frame.
Ten miles north, you’ll find the historic resort of Roche Harbor, once a bustling lime kiln industry. Today Roche Harbor is primarily known to boaters, who converge on the sprawling marina in huge numbers in the summer months.
